10 New Cars Launching in Next Two Years

The following two years will be very energizing for Indian carmakers and fans as there will be a surge of all-new launches and facelifts. Other than a few facelifts of the current forms, there will be some all-new launches . Here's the most far reaching rundown of all the up and coming autos in India in 2017 and 2018.

As carmakers are offering unmistakable quality to the plan and utility highlights in such vehicles, India is set to get some new-age budget autos. Here, we present to you the up and coming autos in India that will be evaluated under Rs 5 lakh.

Here’s a complete list of all the new cars that will be launched in the next two years.

10 New Cars Launching in Next Two Years
The Renault Kwid Racer edition is expected receive mirror styling of that of a race track vehicle.

Under the hood, expect it to get a 67bhp 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine with 91Nm torque and a 5-speed conventional gearbox. Likely to be launched early next year, this heavily accessorized Kwid is among the top upcoming cars in India under Rs 5 lakh

Expected Launch - Early 2018 or 2018 Auto Expo

Expected Price - Rs 4.50 lakh

Engine Specifications - 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine

Reports in media suggest that Maruti will bring the car in pre-production avatar at the next year’s Auto Expo, set to commence from February While details on the Kwid rival are yet hazy, the model is likely to get SUV-like elements, high ground clearance and upright design. Under the hood, expect it to get a 1.0-litre K Series
petrol unit form the Alto K10. Transmission options on the other hand will include both manual and AMT units

Expected Launch - 2018-19

Expected Price - Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh

Engine Specifications 1.0-litre K-Series petrol
Hyundai will also use new set of engines for the hatchback. It is expected to use the 1.1-litre iRDE and 1.2-litre Kappa units for the new Santro. Likely to get an AMT gearbox, Santro could be the first car from Hyundai to get the automated manual gearbox.

Expected Launch - Festive season 2018

Expected Price - Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh

Engine Specifications - 1.1-litre iRDE & 1.2-litre Kappa
The new model will continue to use the same 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine making 83bhp with 115Nm and 74bhp with 190Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT unit. In terms of mileage, the new Swift will be more frugal than the existing model – all thanks to its new platform. The new model will share platform with Baleno that uses 41% high tensile steel. This makes it around 100kgs lighter and more rigidity than the current generation

Expected Launch  - Auto Expo 2018

Expected Price - Rs 5 lakh – Rs 8 lakh

Engine- 1.2-litre VVT Petrol & 1.3-litre DDiS Diesel

Cabin will be more spacious and laden with several new features such as Suzuki’s new touchscreen infotainment system with 7-inch display, new three-spoke steering wheels with mounted controls, re-designed dashboard and more. Powering the MPV’s new-gen model will be a new pair of petrol and diesel engines – a 94bhp, 1.4-litre petrol and a 89bhp, 1.3-litre MJD + SHVS. Maruti might also offer a 1.5-litre diesel powertrain on the new Ertiga. The same unit will also be used on the new Ciaz and S-Cross. On fuel efficiency front, the MPV’s new model will be a step ahead of its current generation

Expected Launch  - Late 2018

Expected Price - Rs 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh

Engine - 1.4-litre Petrol & 1.3-litre MJD + SHVS/new 1.5-litre
It might come with 2-DIN music system, all-new instrument cluster with chrome surrounded two pods, centrally-positioned MID and more. All these updates will make the new Ciaz pricier (around Rs 50,000 – 60,000) than current model.

Expected Launch  -  2018

Expected Price - Rs 8.5 lakh – Rs 11.50 lakh

Engine - New 1.5-litre Petrol & Diesel

While the new S Cross facelift is already on sale in select overseas market, it will hit the Indian shores in coming festive season. Major updates might come in the form of a new M15 1.5-litre petrol engine which is good for 100bhp and 133Nm of torque. The 2018 Maruti S Cross facelift will also continue to feature the current 1.3-litre DDiS and 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engines paired to the conventional 5-speed manual and a new automatic gearbox.

Expected Launch - 2017 Festive Season

Expected Price -    Rs 7 lakh – Rs 12 lakh

Engine-     M15 1.5L Petrol, 1.3L DDiS 200 Diesel & 1.6L Multijet Diesel
will be revised with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link connecitivty, headlamp escort function, reverse parking camera, etc. The hatchback will continue to come with the same 81.83bhp, 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol and 88.73bhp, 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine options. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. While the current model also comes with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, the facelifted model might receive a new 6-speed AT unit. Reports in media suggest that the new Elite i20 might also come with a new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a mild hybrid system

Expected Launch  2018

Expected - Price     Rs 5.70 lakh – Rs 7 lakh

Engine -     1.0L Boosterjet Petrol & 1.4L Boosterjet
The South Korean carmaker might unveil the production version of the Carlino at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. Under the hood, the compact SUV will feature a small displacement petrol motor that might deliver power worth 118bhp and 171Nm of torque. The diesel iteration of the vehicle could feature a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi unit that is good for 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. Transmission duties on the compact SUV are likely to be carried out by a 6-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Expected Launch -     Early 2019

Expected Price-     Rs 8 lakh – Rs 12 lakh

Engine -    118bhp Petrol & 1.4L U2 CRDi Diesel

Power source for the new Jazz will be the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel units. While the gasoline unit makes 87bhp with 110Nm of torque, the oil burner generates a maximum power of 99bhp with 200Nm of torque. The hatch will continue to come with the three transmission options – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a CVT with paddle shifter.

Expected Launch -  End of 2017

Expected Price -    Rs 6 lakh – Rs 9.5 lakh

Engine -    1.2L i-VTEC Petrol & 1.5L i-DTEC Diesel
