The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has crossed 1 lakh sales milestone in a record-breaking five months in India. The Maruti Dzire (previously Swift Dzire) is priced between Rs 5.43 lakh and Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There is a waiting period of up to three months on the Dzire. It is available in four variants namely L, V, Z, and Z+ with both the petrol and diesel engines. Dzire AMT is also available in India with both the engines V variant onwards

The new Dzire's feature list includes LED projector headlamps, DRLs, reverse parking sensors, reverse parking camera, SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push button start/stop with smart key, automatic climate control, auto headlamps, rear AC vents and electronically adjustable and foldable outside mirrors. The 2017 Dzire’s safety features include dual airbags, ABS, EBD with BA, ISOFIX anchorages, etc, as standard.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is priced between Rs 5.26-8.34 lakh for the petrol versions and Rs 6.44-8.42 lakh for the diesel versions. The performance-spec Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is priced at Rs 8.37 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

Maruti's flagship hatchback primarily goes up against the Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo, among others. It is available in four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – and in seven colour options (Ray Blue, Fire Red, Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Premium Urban Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Granite Grey).

The 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 facelift will be introduced at the coming Indian Auto Expo in February next year. The updated i20 is expected to come with redesigned front and rear profiles along with subtly updated interior.

Hyundai launched the refreshed Grand i10 in February this year. After the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), prices for the Grand i10 dropped by approximately Rs 2,000 across all variants and now fall between Rs 4.56-7.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Available in 12 variants (24 if you split them between metallic and solid colour options), the 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 received a bunch of updates. Changes on the outside include redesigned front and rear bumpers, LED DRLs in Sportz (O) and Asta variants and, restyled 14-inch alloy wheels which are offered with the Sportz (O) AT and Asta variants only.

There are no changes in transmission options, with the diesel engine getting a 5-speed manual gearbox while the petrol is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. While the claimed mileage for the diesel-powered Hyundai Grand i10 is 24.4kmpl, the petrol-fed engine returns 19.77kmpl.

The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to launch at the upcoming 2018 Indian Auto Expo in February next year

Speaking of the current model, it is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Both the diesel and petrol engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Maruti Swift delivers a claimed mileage of 20.4 kmpl and 25.2 kmpl for the petrol and diesel, respectively. It comes with features like push-button engine start-stop, reverse parking sensors, electronically foldable outside rear-view mirrors and Bluetooth phone integration.

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR has surpassed the cumulative sales figure of 20 lakh. Launched in 1999, the WagonR took 133 months to reach the first 10 lakh sales mark. The next 10 lakh was achieved in just 79 months

At the start of this year, Maruti Suzuki launched a new range-topping variant – VXI+ – in the Wagon R's line-up. The VXI+ variant's, which is available in both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options along with elective safety pack (dual-front airbags, ABS and EBD). The Wagon R VXI+ has borrowed the aesthetics and features of the Stingray both inside and outside, such as the projector headlamps, clear lens tail lamps, 14-inch gunmetal alloys, piano black interior inserts, and others.

The Maruti car returns the mileage of 20.51kmpl with petrol and 26.6kmpl with LPG fuel. The rest of the variants of the Wagon R remained unaltered, except for the addition of a new Midnight Blue colour, which was previously exclusive to the Stingray.

Tata Motors has added another variant to the Tigor lineup - the XM. It slots between the base XE and XT variants. The XM variants is available with both the engines, mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Over the XE variant, XM variant includes manual central locking, all four power windows, speed dependent automatic door locking, follow me home headlamps, LED fuel gauge, full fabric seat upholstery, interior lamps with theatre dimming and full wheel covers
