Have A Short Break, Visit Prague!

Have A Short Break, Visit Prague!

Prague is just 6 hours flying time from Dubai. All the major airlines including Emirates and Fly Dubai have direct flights at convenient times. Prague is a historical city with the most incredible architecture I have ever seen.

If you are looking for prague packages, you might be flooding with so many options at your disposal. The people in Prague are some of the most friendly lots that you will encounter while tripping. Since English is very widely spoken, it will be a smooth ride to have some interesting conversations with people.

Prague is a city known for its rich culture and tradition. It is innately designed to walk around or take the charming tram so you can get fit and be educated at the same time! So maybe avoid going there in the middle of summer when it would be too crowded to enjoy fully. The best time to visit Prague is when the Easter holidays are going on.

Where to Stay in Prague?

If you wish to make it a memorable trip, consider staying at the Mandarin Oriental in the Mala Strana area of Prague, widely known as the Lesser Quarter. The hotel has been intricately converted from an 11th-century Franciscan monastery, and its walls bear the history of a grand heritage. The location of the place is perfect as it’s just 5 minutes walking distance to the iconic Charles Bridge.

Tranquility prevails in the area; it’s much less chaotic and noisy than across the bridge. The atmosphere in Mala Strana is soothing t the tired soul and almost has a fairy tale like feel to it. If lucky, you may hear classical music being rehearsed as you walk past an ornate window, see fresh apple strudel and take in the smell of hot brewed coffee in one of the many cafes by the lane.

You may also see people halting to admire the magnificent detail in the doors of the grand heritage buildings that now house ambassadors and embassies. It feels an utterly safe area too; if you have time, do try the various Spa therapies in Prague, like geranium and rose facial. You can try some yoga in the spa but this time on the glass floor while looking at the relics from centuries gone by; a very unusual setting to salute the sun.

The hotel even runs free tours that last about an hour and provide a fantastic insight into the history of its construction. At present they are only run on a Saturday, but this may change. They are free of charge, and you’ll learn about a funny style of design called Monastic Chic!

Service at the Mandarin Oriental in Prague is excellent. People can be so observant that you may find a magazine article carefully bookmarked for you when you carelessly leave it open at the page you were reading in the bathroom!

What You Must Do While Visiting PRAGUE:

  • Do see the Prague Castle complex
  • Watch the terrace (and have a meal sitting there) at the Lobkowicz collection in the Prague castle grounds
  • Walk down the street of symbols on your way back from Prague castle towards the Old Town
  • Stroll around Prague’s Old Town Square with no meaningful objective in mind other than to ramble
  • Walk across the Charles Bridge multiple times and make sure you cover all the different times in a day
  • Walk across a bridge one along from the Charles Bridge to watch the mesmerizing swans
  • Visit some of Prague’s Churches in the Old Town Square – The Tyn, St Nicolas, and the Infant Jesus are well worth a visit
  • Walk around Prague’s open-air food market by the Vltava river on an early morning

TOP TIPS for Visiting Prague

Take a couple of pairs of very comfortable walking shoes as you will have to walk a lot and use the time lag if you’re coming from Dubai to get up early and walk across the Charles Bridge when all the crowd is sleeping!

If your plan is not to go to the countryside then three night are ample for this perfect short break destination from Dubai. Do take all your camera equipment as well!
